December 2020 closed the year out very uniquely for me.
I wasn't feeling my best physically. It had a lot to do with stress from the job, not sleeping properly, and months of living a pandemic shelter in place life. My body experienced indescribable pains. It was incredible, and having no immediate answers to why I felt this pain was unacceptable. After going to a few doctors, I have a handle on the problem now. It's going to take some work, using the resources, and making a commitment to myself.
In January 2021, I started to do things differently first by making a lifestyle change. Plant-based eating appears to be more sensible for me. Daily deep stretching and breathing, walking a couple of miles per day and practicing yoga help recalibrate where my health needs to be. There is an excitement in the air as well as optimism about the quality of life.
We talk about it; however, some of us need a reminder. Your health is your wealth. If your health begins to fail, it becomes a significant distraction in your life. You can't focus, you don't maintain clarity, and you become uncomfortable.
Pay attention to all the signs that your body is telling you.
Don't ignore them.
Don't attempt to be a superhero if it's not essential.
You are no good to those you love and things you enjoy if you don't properly care for yourself.
At the end of the day, if you're paying attention, those lessons can offer you a more comfortable, healthier lifestyle. Sign me up for that!
In this new month, I challenge you to slow down, make your health a priority, and be thankful for every lesson The Most-High wants to teach you.
Until next time, take care, be well and continue to #ROCKon
