There's a chill in the air, and fall is upon us!
Breast Cancer Awareness and Domestic Violence Awareness are on the minds & hearts of many. October marks an annual campaign from both causes around the world.
Often times when we think "Legend" in the music, artist and DJ realm, we typically focus on men. However, this individual is an exception to the rule. It was my honor to sit down and have a conversation with DJ Jazzy Joyce.
Hailing from The Bronx (my hometown), this phenomenal woman has been in the game of DJing since she was a little girl. So, young that her mom had to take her to parties/events.
Hip Hop is her steelo, but she has never limited herself to just that. She has allowed the music to take her and the audience wherever they want to go and thus a good time is had by all. Joyce shared her experiences with that has spanned over 40 years. Never tired of growing and staying relevant, she keeps her eyes and ears open as to how music has changed. She throws no shade as she understands it all.
She lets us know that it's all about expression and being able to be free to express yourself is essential. Not only a DJ, but an artist as well, she paints and designs her own clothing line. Pieces that need to be hung in a gallery and/or museum. Let's not take for granted this one as she's still here willing to ROCK the party & part some wisdom for those that want to hear it.

RCR! Presents Real Discussions
Some people are good at doing some things and then there are some that are great at doing almost everything they put their hands on. This dynamo lady that hails from Detroit, Michigan is no different. Jessica Care Moore can almost do it all. Well, whatever she puts her mind, heart and hands to do she does well.
Often times we think about Cancer and Diabetes as diseases that impact us the most. Well, we shouldn’t disregard the power that Lupus has on the individuals it tries to attack.
RCR! Presents Real Discussions talked about What’s Life Like Living with Lupus with two women who refuse to lose. They are not just survivors, but winners. My guests Joelle May and Adrienne Allende have decided they would not lose in the daily battle with Lupus. These ladies have decided to win each new day that they’re given. Yes, it’s like that! It’s a daily decision to want to beat it and not give in to how you might be feeling.
The interesting thing about this is that both of these women were diagnosed with Lupus at different times in their lives not knowing that they had anything wrong with them to begin with.
It has changed them both immensely where some of things that wanted to do and/or used to do can no longer be considered an option. Having children, relationships, careers, etc. are we’re tough decisions that had to made in order to focus on their health each and everyday.
Lupus is a complicated and unpredictable disease. You don’t know when symptoms will strike or how long a flare could last. The uncertainty of how you can be impacted will very from day to day and throughout the course of the day. To make a donation to the local chapters, go Lupus.org.
Feel free to learn more about Lupus and the women who have decided to fight everyday on the Real Chicks Rock! YouTube channel.

What can you say about someone who can do it all?
RCR! Presents Real Discussions was honored to have A Conversation with Josh Milan. He was transparent about his love, likes and some struggles with music. His struggle: He wanted to become a musician...YES. However, wanting to be a singer...NO.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Josh shared with us some key things that helped to mold him into the man we see and hear today. From his influential cousin to a business turned friendship he still has to this day with a musical icon.
He’s very good at what he does and is committed to it. As he continues to love the power of writing music, we will continue to hear beautiful lyrics and melodies from this gentleman from his label HoneyComb music.
